TEALIGHT CONVERSATIONS

Gentle Spaces for Collective Resilience

In times when the world feels heavy — full of grief, urgency, and unanswered questions — we need places where we can stay warm without burning out. As writer, Oasis Associate and activist Virginia Méndez names so powerfully, tealight resistance is about tending to the small, human flames that keep us going when the bonfires feel too far away. It’s about choosing connection, reflection, and kindness - not as retreat, but as quiet, grounded forms of resistance.

At Oasis, we’ve been offering spaces like this for over 30 years. Whether exploring the transpersonal in the 1990s, collaborative leadership in the 2000s, peer-based working in the 2010s, or supporting leaders through personal and professional transitions, we’ve seen how shared story and deep listening can shape real change. Our long-running Leaders in Transition group - still meeting today - is one such example.

Now, under the gentle name of tea-light conversations, we’re continuing to invite people to gather - in Leeds, Edinburgh, London, Florence, and online. These are small, safe, story-rich spaces for people who may come from different worlds but share similar questions.

They are not workshops, nor coaching sessions. There are themes but no agenda. No fixing. Just space to be real, reflect, and remember what matters.

In these times, when shouting feels too much and silence too isolating, tea-light conversations offer something else: the warmth of being with others, the dignity of listening, and the quiet courage of showing up, together.

If you’re seeking connection, reflection, and space to think aloud in good company, we invite you to join us.
